LA Green Drinks - Silver Lake Thursday @ Good Luck Bar (for sure this time)

LA Green Drinkers,

We apologize for the confusion at last month's Silver Lake Green Drinks. This Thursday we are sure that we can use the Good Luck Bar, so we hope to see all the Silver Lake Green Drinkers at our new location.

please do so-
we will have an area for brochures, business cards, etc.
We will also take back any extra literature back and bring them to the next Green Drinks.
The main thing is just to relax and have a good time.

The City of Santa Monica is accepting proposals from non-profit organizations, professional services firms or individuals to act as a Community Sustainability Liaison. The Community Sustainability Liaison will facilitate the adoption of sustainable practices in the community and engage diverse stakeholders to meet the goals set forth in the
Santa Monica Sustainable City Plan.
Proposals are due January 18th.

The next workshop cycle begins Monday, January 22nd
at the Unurban Cafe in Santa Monica

Learn how to live more sustainably through a 6 week evening series of meetings covering: Water, Energy, Waste, Chemicals, Transportation, Food and Shopping.
The meetings run from 7-8:30pm.
Santa Monica residents suggested donation $25, all others $35.
Includes training, comprehensive textbook, and sustainable tools
(water saving aerators, compact fluorescent bulb, etc.)

Movies
Santa Monica Public Library presents Sustainable Cinema:
Four films that examine the relationship between humans and planet Earth. The films will be shown monthly from February through May, 2007. All films will screen in the Martin Luther King Jr.Auditorium in the Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard. The series begins with a screening of Who Killed the Electric Car? on Wednesday, February 7 at 7:00 p.m.; a panel discussion with environmental experts will follow. In March, the film Super Size Me is featured; it will screen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6. Al Gore’s film An Inconvenient Truth will be shown on Wednesday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. The final film in the series, Fast Food Nation, will screen on Wednesday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. This program series is cosponsored by the Environmental Programs Division of the City of Santa Monica.
